Personal Information Protection Policy
Energy Gap Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “our company”) is committed to contributing to society, earning the trust of all our customers, and conducting business in accordance with our management philosophy and the code of conduct we have established, as well as to fulfilling societal expectations.
We recognize that personal information obtained from our stakeholders in the course of our business operations is an important asset for everyone and a source of new value creation for our company. Therefore, we shall protect personal information adequately in accordance with the following basic policy.
1.Basic Policy
- (1) Our company shall comply with the Personal Information Protection Law, related laws and regulations, guidelines set forth by the government, and other norms.
- (2) Our company shall use personal information only within the scope necessary to achieve the specified purpose(s) of use. If it becomes necessary to use personal information beyond this scope, our company shall obtain consent for such use, except as otherwise stipulated by laws and regulations.
- (3) We shall not disclose personal information to third parties (including third parties located in foreign countries) unless we have obtained prior consent or unless permitted by law. If it is necessary to provide personal information to a third party, we will limit the scope of the information provided to the extent necessary, require the third party to manage the personal information appropriately by contract or other means, and supervise the third party accordingly.
- (4) (2) Notwithstanding the provisions of Paragraphs 3 and 4, our company shall use personal identification numbers and specified personal information (personal information that includes personal identification numbers in its contents) only for administrative purposes as permitted by law, and shall not provide such information to any third party except as permitted by law.
- (5) Our company shall keep personal information accurate and up-to-date, strive to prevent unauthorized access to personal information, leakage, loss, or damage of personal information, and continuously improve and correct information security.
- (6) Our company may outsource the handling of personal information to outside contractors to the extent necessary for our business operations. In such cases, we will enter into an agreement with the outsourcee regarding the handling of personal information, clearly and concretely stipulate the security management system for personal information. In addition, we shall investigate and confirm the handling of personal information by the outsourcee and exercise appropriate supervision over the outsourcee.
- (7) Our company shall confirm that a customer has the right to request disclosure, correction, suspension of use, deletion, etc. of his/her personal information. When such a request is made, we shall promptly take the necessary action.
2.Purposes of Use of Personal Information
For details on the purposes of use of personal information held by our company, please refer to the page listing the purposes of use of personal information. When personal information related to individual products, services, etc. is provided by customers or other parties, the purpose of use of the personal information shall be clearly stated in advance. The personal information provided shall be used within the scope of the stated purpose of use. If it becomes necessary to use personal information beyond the scope of the stated purpose of use, we shall notify you to that effect and obtain your consent before using the information. Personal information entrusted by other companies shall be used within the scope of the contract with the entrusting company.
3.Provision of Personal Information
- (1) Our company shall not disclose or provide personal information to third parties, except in the following cases.
In the case of joint use or provision to a subcontractor, it does not constitute disclosure or provision to a third party.- (i) When the consent of the person in question has been obtained
- (ii) When so required by laws and regulations
- (iii) When it is necessary for the protection of the life, body, or property of an individual and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person in question
- (iv) When the information is disclosed as "statistical data" in which the individual cannot be identified.
- (v) When confirming the legitimacy of a bank account, etc. with a financial institution for payment procedures associated with the use of paid services, product orders, etc.
- (vi) In the event of succession of business due to merger, company split, business transfer, or other reasons.
- (2) When it is deemed appropriate for our affiliates or agents in order to respond to inquiries from customers regarding our products, repairs, or services, our company may provide the customer's address, name, telephone number, etc. to such affiliates or agents with the consent of the customer.

Purposes of Use of Personal Information
Our company will use the personal information of our customers and other individuals for the following purposes.

Handling of Personal Information when Outsourcing
Within the scope of the above-mentioned purposes of use, our company may provide all or part of the personal information to an outside contractor. In such cases, we shall select a subcontractor that has an adequate level of protection, enter into a contract with the subcontractor to maintain confidentiality, and exercise appropriate management and supervision of the subcontractor.
